The Gianni Savelli Media Res takes its inspiration from so many sources that it really moves to a realm beyond label and categorization.

The combining of extensive and expansive written music while maintaining a simultaneous central component of improvisation is totally unique in an ensemble as small as this.

Filtered through the sounds and rhythms of various distant cultures melded with European and jazz harmonies, this music emerges as something completely original and evocative, taking the listener on a journey alive with imagery and imagination.

In 2004 the band has published its debut album "Media Res".    On 2009 it released its second work "Que la fête commence"
